Ok, where did everyone go?  It seems like only yesterday I was basking in the glory of scoring my first press review – JUKE KARTEL – complete with direct link from their site.  Psych!!!

And then everything just came to a complete

                                                                   STOP!

Well, it’s basically just been me not taking the time to attend the site.  Simple as that.  Excuses?  Nah, just been busy getting myself settled into a new job, breathing a huge sigh of relief after two years of running all over Gods creation doing in-home mental health intervention.  I’d also been busy discovering lots of great new artists/musicians over at thesixtyone.com right up until they did a complete site make-over and made it extremely difficult to maneuver around [another story for another time].  Also been pretty busy getting a page loaded up over on Youtube.com and having a blast reliving the past reviewing the hours of band videos I’ve filmed over the years.  Tonight I wanted to swing in here and acknowledge both the site and my responsibility to it by posting something.  And so I’ve accomplished my goal.  I promise to TRY and be more faithful about attending to Disc Frisk Presents.

JUKE KARTEL

WAKE UP AMERICA …

L to R: Tommy Kende (bass) Todd Burman (guitar) Toby Rand (vocals) Jay Pinfold (drums) Dale Winters (guitar)

I’m not quite certain what it is our beloved Homeland Security Advisory System is currently advising people to do about homeland security, but when this classy cartel of Australian hard-rockers finally decide to invade our shores with their bombastic brand of “heavy” on a totally unsuspecting American populace …

Well,  let’s just say that it won’t really matter much after that.

Another Day, A Few More Changes …

Posted by DiscFrisker August 9th, 2009

Just to let everyone know that they haven’t been forgotten.  The website continues to evolve with little changes here and there and a whole lot more hovering on the horizon.  We’re still getting all the kinks straightened out, but the ideas continue to flow.  Now all I gotta do is get the writing muse out of the box and start getting some CD reviews done, more band profiles finished, more articles researched.

Stay tuned

LOWPITCH

A great new band with a refreshingly heavy sound …

Lowpitch is fresh, deep and most definitely different.   Lowpitch can rock your ass off or sing a song straight into your heart.  Lowpitch can make you dance and Lowpitch can even make you stop and think.   Electronic synths, hip-hop beats, exotic pop vocals, rocking guitars, echoes of fractured dance grooves – just like in a good fusion meal, one might think the individual elements won’t be good together … until you taste it.  Lowpitch was unofficially born in Rhodos, Greece during the summer of 2008. They now reside in Italy where Kiara, DjKrash and Sygo – coming from totally different musical backgrounds – decided to join forces to create a unique blend of music.  Their own.

THE DAY AFTER YESTERDAY …

Isn’t it fun to contemplate?

Right now I’m contemplating as to what this website is going to end up looking like – what’s going to be included and how it’s all going to come together.  Guess we’ll discover those answers together in due time.  One thing most definitely to be included:  a Featured Artist section – whether it be a daily, a weekly or a monthly feature – it will BE.
Hmmm …
Let’s see if I can throw one together and Disc Frisk Presents it to you all later.

HELLO WORLD!

Posted by DiscFrisker August 5th, 2009

It’s been a long while since Disc Frisk Presents has been actively involved in promoting great new indie music from around Maine, New England and the rest of the world.  With over fifteen combined years of writing for most of the free music mags in New England, DJ’ing a 2-hour local radio show, editing/producing a music video show for public access TV and successfully producing/hosting several live music series/concerts – I’ve also stepped back and watched in amazement as Disc Frisk Presents grew from a very simple dream into a very cool reality.

However…

That was then – this is NOW.

So, now it’s time for Disc Frisk Presents to, once again, renew/refresh its mission of spreading the grand and glorious  gospel of great new music to those willing enough to listen/hear/accept …

and then onward to conquer the rest of the universe via the Internet in the process.

Stay Tuned

Respect
